Dog-friendly holidays

Visiting Cornwall

My dog had the best holiday ever.

We look forward to welcoming you and your dog to Trelowarren

Dog Policy

We are huge dog lovers here at Trelowarren and you can bring two well behaved dogs to Trelowarren, however we have laid out the following dog policy to ensure you, your pets and our other guests have a happy holiday. Any customer staying at Trelowarren implicitly agrees to this policy as it forms part of the T&C or renting a cottage at Trelowarren.

Firstly, please provide details of the dog(s) coming with you at the time of booking and remember that your dog is your responsibility at all times.

Please remember to bring dog beds, bowls and towels as they are not provided in the properties. Although some of the houses state the gardens are secure, they may not be secure for YOUR dog, please check with reception when booking. Many of our boundaries are Cornish walls which will not keep in all dogs.

Our estate is full of wildlife. There will be pheasants, chickens, cows and sheep at the estate and we ask you to ensure your dog is on its lead when walking around the estate. It is your responsibility to keep your dog(s) under control and ensure they don’t bother animals, birds or other guests. Please check with reception as to which areas are safe to let your dog off the lead.

We will provide a stair gate in your house which we would be grateful if you would use to prevent your dog going upstairs and do not let your dog on the furniture.

Please do not leave your dog alone in the house all day as they may bark and disturb other guests. If your dog causes any damage to the property, we will ask you to cover the cost of repair. We can offer the details of a dog sitter if you are heading out without your pet, please ask for more information.

Please make sure that your dog has been treated with a suitable flea control treatment two weeks before you arrive at Trelowarren.

We have a number of walks around Trelowarren and there are many beaches and coastal walks around the Lizard that allow dogs all year round.

Visit the Cornwall Beach Guide website for more information about dog-friendly beaches.

Please bring bags to clean up after your dog not matter where the mess is made (ie including the woodlands and fields) so that we can make sure the council are happy to keep our beaches and walks dog friendly! There is a poo bin in our recycling area, please use it, do not leave bags hanging on trees or on the floor.

You are welcome to walk your dog (on leads) around the Woodland Walks at Trelowarren during the season (March – October) Dogs are not allowed in the Trelowarren gardens or Pleasure Grounds.
